The Head & Neck Surgery Department of the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Coimbra (IPO Coimbra) organizes the “Masterclasses in Thyroid Surgery”. Held in Coimbra, Portugal, this two-day meeting (25-26 June 2025) will focus on hot topics of thyroid diseases and their surgical treatment.

A group of outstanding Endocrinologists and Surgeons from Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Türkiye will give several masterclasses on diagnosis, surgical approaches, remote access, minimally invasive treatments, intraoperative nerve monitoring, complications control, radical neck dissections, and innovations linked to thyroid surgery.
Dr. Paula Messias (head of the Head & Neck Surgery Department) and Dr. Carlos Costa Almeida (responsible for the organization) invite you to come to Coimbra during the summer of 2025. Coimbra is a nice city full of history, with narrow streets and centenary buildings, home to the tombs of D. Afonso Henriques (the first king of Portugal) and his son D. Sancho I, with Roman buildings which take you to the Roman Empire, and with nice restaurants and bars by the river. Coimbra is the home of the world third oldest universityd, where history comes to life in one of the most beautiful libraries ikn the world (Biblioteca Joanina).
